Sylvia Mantella is deeply committed to supporting children, youth, and underserved communities through her personal leadership and hands-on involvement with a wide range of charitable organizations.

These include SickKids Hospital, Campfire Circle—Canada’s only oncology camp serving children living with cancer and serious illness— Children First Canada, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR), the Giller Mantella Scholarships, the Women Empowerment Awards and many others.

Through sustained engagement, advocacy, and meaningful partnerships, Mantella Corporation remains dedicated to creating lasting impact and strengthening the communities it serves.

The Giller Mantella Scholarship


Due to the overwhelming success of the Giller Mantella Scholarships, effective March 1, 2026 the program has officially been extended until March 2029! 

The Giller Mantella Scholarship is a collaboration between the Giller Foundation and Mantella Corporation. 

The scholarship is for Black, Indigenous and racialized students across Canada planning to start or continue full-time English Literature, Writing, or Creative Writing studies. 

The scholarship will award $10,000 to three deserving recipients each year to further their education.
